Hello all,
Guess I should have introduced myself long before now, but was only prompted by reading the introduction from Allybee
I have been lurking around in here for a few months now, picking up tips and recipes!
I look forward to getting some good information from this forum, considering I ain't got much to work with out here. I was only diagnosed a few months ago when in the UK on holiday, but it certainly explained a lot of what has been happening to me over the last few years. I have gone from living in Indonesia, then Russia and I am now in Angola, so don't get much time at home to take care of this disease properly.
Biggest issue I have right now is with the amount of conflicting advice out there. I tried to follow some advice in here suggesting that removal of carbohydrates from the diet would be good, and it did make me feel good ...eventually. But then when I received some information from my GP back in the UK (like a starter pack for newly diagnosed diabetics), it seemed to contradict that advice! Who is right and who is wrong? Or are there many different approaches to dealing with this disease?
I am originally from Johnstone and a die-hard Tim, so I guess I can look forward to some banter as well
Take care everyone ...its a sugar coated jungle out there!
Colin.
