I have booked an appointment with GP as having dreadful problems with my hands and have been doing so for several months, pins and needles, tingling, followed by numbness, seems worst in morning. Have noticed some similar numbness in feet also. I am T1 and have been for 37 years, anyone got anything similar or know what is going on please?

Not sure about this one. I get carpol tunnel syndrome in my left hand, but what you have is different. It is definitely worth a checkup.

My first thought is B vitamins, not sure what else it could be though as that's the only one I have experienced.

I have carpal tunnel in both hands and get the same feelings of tingling, numbness, worst in morning - and night. I get itchy too and loss of movement. Went on for months for me too. No feet involved for me. The Dr scared the hell out of me with the possible causes, an EMG took care of the diagnosis.

All I can share is my experience: I looked online for possible causes, asked people on here too, got so many responses of different possibilities that worry kept me up at nights. Turns out I can only have one (maybe two or three) of the possibilities - but not everything that it "could be".

Conclusion: Take the answers with a pinch of salt. We're just sharing our stories, it doesn't mean it'll be yours.
EMG is a helpful test to check if the problem is a local one or not (caused primarily from hand like carpal tunnel or brain).

Good luck!

I was getting some pins a needle sensations in my hands. I started taking vitamin B12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid. Seems to be better now.

Neuropathy can be caused by prolonged high blood sugars, so I was surprised to get these symptoms once I had got my blood sugar under control using a LCHF diet. In my case I was worried about a vitamin B12 deficiency which Metformin can cause.
