I suffer recurring bouts of hard skin on my left foot. It gets very painful and uncomfortable. Can anyone recommend a good cream to use

John

once a week I use a sanding block and sand the hard skin off , after the shower I use Vaseline( works as good as expensive foot cream). and put on socks
before I go to bed. works for me!

Get Zerocreme or flexiol heel balm from the doctor.

I also use a board to remove occasional callouses; though very carefully. Berstein actually advises against doing this in case the skin underneath has been damaged by the callous.

My gp prescribes a 50:50 parrafin wax: parafin oil whichis meant to be used daily. It does help with hard skin, but I find it too messy not not always well adsorbed - I buy flexitol heel balm and flexitol moisturising foor cream and use one or the other once a week which I find better. I occasionally need to use a podiatry supplied foot file on the balls of my feet if there has been a build up of hard skin but wouldnt use it on my toes where I think the skin is thinner and therefore probably more prone to damage

Flexitol callous balm isn't so messy; but, of course, you have to pay for that. You could get a subscription order from Amazon for a regular order discount - and then cancel it maybe.
