Refused acupuncture for plantar fasciitis?

I have had plantur fasciitis for about seven months. I am wearing supports in my trainers, massaging feet and stretching but not much improvement. The doctor is not prepared to give me acupuncture due to risk of infection. Anyone an experience of this?

I can't help with the acupuncture but I have had what the GP described as plantar fasciitis. I went to a podiatrist who recommended a particular kind of sandal to be worn at all times indoors and also gave me specialised fitted orthotics (which I normally just wear on long walks). No problems since then.

I've had acupuncture many times without infection, but not for plantar fasciitis. Hospital were happy to give it to me.

Not sure if they are available outside NZ but they are OOFOS
