Hi,

i have been sharing my diabetes struggles on tik tok and had a few people come to me and recommend me this product called "unicity"
it costed me £145 via a referral and they sold it to me... telling me it is going to help reverse my diabetes and insulin resistance..
its basically come with 2 products and you have to mix them into water and fast for many hours... the product called "balance" you can take before every meal 15min before. and supposedly it helps lower the blood sugar i just wanted to know if anyone on this forum has come across this product and if so did it work for you?

i am told it should take about 90 days to work...

Nah! I would never trust anything I read or saw on tiktok. Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) Think you got sold a placebo if you were lucky.

Remember that some posters may be friends or relatives of the purveyors.

It seems to be similar to Fybogel i.e. just fibre.

That would cost me almost a months worth of basic foods, and as long as I'm getting enough fats in my choices, I can fast for many hours already without needing any extra expensive help.... o_O

I ve heard if it - the balance just suppressed your hunger so you don’t over eat

I think AllBran has a similar effect. so does cardboard.
But it is an expensive way to cut calories.

You say you have heard of it, but have you actually tried it yourself to prove it supresses appetite and stops cravings?

Beware
"contains maltodextrin, citric acid, orange juice powder, sweeteners, and orange flavor."
So this is likely to upset your glucometer and give incorrect readings. Hope the sweetener is not aspartame as that can be dangerous to some people. Ths list above is similar to Fybogel.

The claims for phyto chemicals are not proven, and are a marketing ploy employed in the nutrition business. to sound scientific.

The science explanation in their text for the 5 mechanisms reads like hocus pcus, and is not backed up by any referenced trials or studies, so is marketingspeak again.

apparently fasting alone will reduce hunger pangs. and lead to a reduction in appetite. The metabolism adjusts to compensate.

Certainly seems to for a lot of people, so worth a try, but never worked for me. During my calorie-counting days, my hunger pangs could overcome anything! Nowadays, following a keto diet, I eat within a 4-hour window, sometimes 6 hours, because that is when I get those hunger pangs. But they don't go away until I eat.

interesting comments from y'all.
i do agree why am i hearing about this on tik tok and not the news.. whenever i asked them this question they tend to have good responses which they say that if the "doctors told you about this then they wouldn't pocket from this.
as for the price they say that it is only £4 a day and say make it seem like it is nothing expensive maybe i have been fooled or maybe not who knows. i plan on finishing the batch because it is not something i want to waste.

Please don;t start growing crysanthemums out of your derriere. May as well use it up now you got it, and let us know what your own experience is.

so far, week 2, no effect.. i have been told to give it at least 90 days.. to see results.
I hope you are also tracking your weight. I would expect 90 days of fasting would produces some effect on its own so maybe try to plot the bgl readings on a graph to see if there is any trend.showing.

Sounds like a scam to me.

It is MLM (Multi Level Marketing) with independant distributors selling product and seeking other business minded people to sponsor into the business Similar to HerbalLife or Amway. Turnover in 2020 was $735 Million. The organisation sells some 20 or so "HealthProducts".

In my language that's a scam! At least with a Tupperware (or sex toy!) party you could see what you were buying and decide if it was useful.

Hi there, yep I'm using it at the moment, 1 month in, blood sugar went down, blood pressure went down, almost a stone lost, cholesterol normal again, highly recommend, is expensive..

Isn't it just soluble fibre? Cant see why it costs so much.

Put it like this: if there was a dependable way to reduce BG by this method, don't you think you wouldn't have to find out about it from TikTok?
I'm hearing you, I'm fed up of all the so called miracle cure....but yes..I gave it a go and the results were outstanding...and yes , I still can't believe it, and completely understand peoples views on it because I had the same, and now I'm eating my hat
