Has anyone else heard about the artificial Pancreas?

I have been told today that the NHS are funding to bring out an artificial Pancreas in the year of 2016. This basically means that any Diabetic person can live a normal life as you will no longer need to inject yourself or have the pump attached to your body. The artificial Pancreas is placed under the skin and reacts EXACTLY the same as a normal Pancreas would. It would release sugar when it detects that you are hypoing and gives out insulin when you are high or eating. The only thing about it is that you have to fill it up with insulin every two weeks as our body doesn't produce that naturally. But...it's MUCH better than injecting and having a pump strapped to you 24/7, right?
I just thought I'd let you all know this because it made my day when this came out.

I've been reading about a lot of promising treatment for diabetes lately. I was reading about some reverse vaccine e for type 1 diabetes. I don't think it's a once off deal but it will make life much easier.
 
Ive been reading about this closed loop system for years. Ive also been reading about one that will be implanted but not sure how it will be filled with insulin. They said it would be tested and out in 2014 back then, now its 2016. It would be nice to get more updates about these systems but to be honest, I doubt these systems have even been made. Yesterday I read somewhere that it would cost about £5000 per person to have the implant. Doubt the NHS would fund this so I guess we will never see this happen.
