Has anyone managed to reverse autonomic neuropathy?

Diagnosed with MODY nearly 6 years ago. Hba1cs have ranged from in the 30s up to the highest of 56. 2 years ago started to experience light headedness, fatigue, breathlessness and since then other symptoms have followed...spells of nausea, tachycardia, burning feet, crawling sensation on scalp, sometimes pins and needles on hands, low blood pressure, sweating abnormalities.
Neurologist has said I have small fiber neuropathy based on pin prick sensation and temperature check.
Has anyone had this and made an improvement? Neurologist said the cause was diabetes but how can this have happened to me already?! Desperate for advice please.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I'm T2 so may be not best placed to answer you. Tagging a couple of mods who might be better - @Antje77 @Jaylee

However I got rid of almost all my neuropathy (feet) after getting my BGs back in normal range. As far as I can tell, my neuropathy started when I had an A1c of around 44.

I just being diagnosed with polyneuropathy with EMG test.

I am surprised that neuroapthy can be getting rid of @KennyA.

My two legs and hands have latency greater than normal.

So I guess it is progressing.

I wish we had more MODY members, as a LADA I don't know much about it either!
I also have no experience with neuropathy, I'm sorry you have these symptoms, @HOLLIE4 .

I hope you'll get a reaction from members who know more about it, wish you all the best!

I have had type 1 diabetes for 37 years now, knew about neuropathy and all other possible complications, but had never heard of autonomic neuropathy, until i was diagnosed 7 years ago with severe cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy, the damage has already been done, due to many years of uncontrolled diabetes(not my fault,i was classed as a brittle diabetic, and even went into dka whilst in a controlled situation as an inpatient!)
I have been told that i can maybe improve my symptoms, but that it cannot be reversed, like normal neuropathy can,i am on an insulin pump and cgm,and my control is now very good, but damage already done,i have no hypo awareness, neurogenic bladder, meaning i am catheterised,my blood pressure is high one minute and bottoms out the next,my body struggles to regulate blood pressure now,and my heart is affected along with a host of other issues,i do the best i can on a daily basis, some good, some very bad
There is plenty of information out there regarding diabetic neuropathy, but hardly anything about autonomic neuropathy,as the two are different
My specialist said not much is known about autonomic neuropathy, they are still very much leaning to understand it,i just wish more information was passed onto patients, other than the usual things to look for

I have very bad neuropathy too and very bad side effects. Also medicine side effects. I have low blood pressure some days and less times high blood pressure. I have bad balance too. I faint many times but now I sit down or hold on to something if I feel dizzy. Doctors checked and couldn’t find anything wrong cardiac muscular wise. They all say take in control your blood sugar readings. I don’t know why these r happening, do you have similar problems?

Have you been diagnosed as having neuropathy or autonomic neuropathy?
