Has this forum lost the plot?

The commenter that the OP alludes to was in the wrong. The OP should have a)Reported or b)'Ignored' the commenter. That much is fair imo. But I find it odd that the OP then chooses to take the topic put up by the commenter and make a brand new post about that very same topic. Are you saying that once a topic has been raised then it's fair to carry forward that subject even if it has nothing whatsoever to do with the Forum ethos? That way the forum really will lose the plot and become just another box standard platform for chat, pictures of dinners and kittens (not on the same plate, mind you, now that really would be odd) and hate speech.

The mods can't and don't read every post so they will not know what has been said in every single post.
That's why there's a report button.

I have been writing on a site where an OP can ask a question and anyone can answer that question. The facility exists for anyone answering to tick a box in the settings saying that you don't want anyone picking your answer apart. I ticked that box since I tend to disagree with the practice on any board. This is how arguments on the side start. If someone has a comment or answer for the OP they are at liberty to provide an answer themselves without bouncing off someone else.

That's all well and good, but what team DO you support?
