I don't enjoy food any more, I have a real problem eating any dinners. I can easily eat chocolate all day but have no appetite for real food. If I could take a tablet with all the goodness in I would. ( I all have trouble with food hygiene). I have been too multiple therapy groups, counselling and self help groups. I'm looking for anyone who is the same or has any advice for me.

Thanks.

Hi @Sallieayres55 :)

Can I ask a little more about your problems with food hygiene?

Are there any foods apart from chocolate that you like?

Welcome Sallieayres55, Yes I go around supermarkets with wishing I could just eat chocolate. We can but alas only in very small quantities, A square daily. However I drink organic cocoa made with organic semi skimmed milk and unsweetened for breakfast.

Do you live alone? If so then that's another reason why buying and making food is a pain.

Sorry I haven't answered your problem on hygiene. Can you elaborate please.

Hi azure. Yeh I only like chocolate really. I don't go out to eat out. I have a real fear of being sick so I will avoid pretty much anything.

Hi asparagusp. Thanks for the suggestion with the hot chocolate. I have no taste what so ever other than sweet products.

Cocoa powder not hot chocolate powder.

You've said you've had counselling and been to self-help groups, but have you seen a psychologist or similar specialising in such issues.

Sorry to keep going on about the sick thing but it helps to understand and to make suggestions. When you say you're afraid of being sick, do you mean afraid of vomiting or afraid of catching germs?

What about sweet things like fruit? Or easy to eat things like soup? Or even cereal?

If you're not able to try other foods at all, then I think you need to push for more specialist help and support. I'm sure there's help out there. My friend's son had food issues and a very restricted diet (basically he only ate bread and chips) and once he managed to try other things, he improved quickly. I think the trick was finding a sympathetic specialist.

It must be hard for you with the diabetes to think about too.
