Having some issues

I'm newly diagnosed but not sure If I am type 1 or type 2 diabetic I'm having a few conscious issues about injecting insulin in public places before meal times as my meter readings are very high and the one other problem I'm having is the injections them selves do you think a quick stab is less painful than slow controlled injection I've found maybe one in ten injections hurt more than the others or is it in my head obviously I'm now insulin dependant I'm using a 0.25 x 5mm pin any help would appreciated many thanks Mark
 
Please seek medical advise you need to know what type of DB you are dealing with ...you need to be clear yourself and you have the right to know.

Should add we can't tell you here , it is a medical diagnoses ....which type you are , important for you to find this out

I'm possibly thinking type 2 its because they said they need to do a more in depth test on my blood that costs a lot more money than just checking for high sugars its a all a new experience for me
 
They had taken more bloods from me on Friday and they have been sent to lab for testing I should know more by wedsnesday

Good next Wednesday you will know more ....if in doubt you can always see a Dr in any emergency ...
 
Hi. I always inject slowly and let the needle 'slip' in. Yes, I have pain for 1 in 10 injections and that's life I guess. Note that if you are not overweight there are 4mm needles such as I use that in theory are less painful as they are also slightly thinner but needle length has to be matched to fat depth
 
Thanks diabell I'm not considered to be fat I don't think 5ft9 and I'm weighing in at 11 stone 69.853kg I'll ask my nurse at the doctors surgery great news thank you
 
I just gently ease my needles in sometimes they hurt and burn, I'm not brave enough to stab them in!! I'm overweight but use 4mm with no problems.
 
Many thanks Sara69 I'm going to ask my nurse for 4mm needles next time I see her I did not know there was different sizes so a bonus to know :)
 
It's now been confirmed from my test results that I am a type 1 diabetic
