HBA1C Before Surgery

Hey Everyone,

I am due to have surgery soon provided that my HBA1C is at an ok level. Not sure if anyone would know as cant find much on google but what level would your HBA1C need to be below in order to get the go ahead for surgery from my doctor?

I'm not to sure of the answer to be honest, obviously if a patient diabetes is uncontrolled the recovery time will be longer and the incidence of post-operative infections will be greatly higher, did your medical team not say what they want your Hba1c to be before they consider surgery? if they didn't then I would ask them.
