I wonder if i could get any opinions or any people that have experienced what happened to me at the weekend.
At the weekend i had another hypo scare where my levels dropped really low which resulted in me going unconscious and having a seizure. I was asleep and my libre alarm never went off as it disconnected which happens sometimes but this was a bad time for it to do it. Its been 5 days now and i still feel shook from it and still dont feel mentally right if that makes sense. Is it normal to still feel not right days after it happened?

Cold weather, angry people, queues,
It was decades ago now well before libre with the alarms that I used to have nocturnal hypos that would send me into seizures that would take a good week before I recovered properly , it used to feel like my brain was rattling around in my skull , It was something I thought could never happen again with the libre alarms and fortunately for me it hasn't , can I ask why your libre disconnected as that does sound strange .

Hi,

I’m sorry to read of your bad experience.

Waking & treating really low night hypos for me has always felt like I’d had a heavy night out partying for the best part of the following day..

With regards to dropped Libre signals.
Have you set the signal loss alarm on your app?
It could at least wake to either test or get the sensor reconnected?

So like sometimes when i go on the app it doesnt come up with a reading then i go to scan and says try again in ten minutes. It does happen quite a bit if im honest and obviously that is what happened on saturday as my alarm in set to if my readings go below 5

@G.Donald98 ,

From what I know about Libres.
The algorithm will try to chop sense into the interstitial reading.
This means the “try again in ten” is either due to a rapid interpretation of rise or fall in BGs, or a “compression low” from lying on the sensor whilst asleep making it think it’s a rapid drop??

I would surmise the “try in 10” is Abbott covering their back incase of the wrong interpretation whilst this is going on?
To kind of avoid the user from making false treatment decisions?

Always best to grab the meter in this instance. (They recommend it?)

Thank you for the response, ye i think ive gotten lazy with the meter as have just relied on the libre. Ive ordered a new meter as mine is dated so will definitely use it more often

Hi,

It’s easy to fall into that position.
The Libre is a great tool. But there are still time & places for meters.. (I don’t believe personally they are extinct just yet?)

I had a BT drop out from my watch from the phone whilst out just shopping after work. Yet all was happening with the apps on the phone..
Sometimes we are just surrounded by conflicting wavelengths within a narrow bandwidth? (Check out what Ofcom manage if you are in the UK? Just a theory.)
I read up BT & WiFi are pretty close.. could just be either other modern cars connection or the price scanners in shops regarding “stock control” with shop assistants?? Or the businesses WiFi network? Even ear buds??? Who knows..
This may not have been factored in regarding individual BT connection with sensors?

Yes I’d wake up with a huge headache, sore tongue and sickness. I could sleep it off in a day but would still feel off for longer. Oddly enough it was always attributed to hypos, and as it was the 1970’s my parents would give me Lucozade to bring me round. Years later when I had a meter my husband ( a nurse ) did a test and said to maybe see my GP as I wasn’t hypo after or during the seizure. It’d happen after a late night, stress, drinking or hormones routinely. Turns out I’d gone 45 years with a misdiagnosis. I’m on epilepsy medication and have been seizure free for 13 years now. Sad as I suffered having seizures all of that time, but it’s better to be safe.

I've had two hypo induced seizures (the first one during a pre cgm pregnancy and my husband thought I was dying) . Both took a while to recover from, at least a day.
