I have a reason to celebrate, and wanted to share.. I've just had my HbA1c in.. down to 36mmol/mol.
My reading prior to getting on top of my eating and exercising was 125mmol/mol in January 2025 and 122 in 2024.
I've just started my third pen of Mounjaro 5mg. For most days of the week I'm eating less than 30g carbs a day. Past few weeks I've struggled more to stick to that - going on holiday hasn't helped - but trying to avoid anything more than a couple of days in a row off my healthy eating. Alcohol intake has increased a bit in recent few weeks too, but trying to stick to low-carb options like vodka and rum.
I've lost 20kg weight since late-February. Gone down 8 inches around my waist.
Exercise isn't going to plan. I started off in March walking every day, a few miles.. past month it's been mostly non-existant apart from an hour on the treadmill once a week. Need to get on top of that..
Also I had my Diabetic retinopathy come back as normal last week too. For prior 2 years they had it marked as abnormal.
.. what next? I've not been called in for an emergency review with my GP like I normally do immediately after bloods. I see they've marked me down as "pre-diabetic" now.. but not sure it's that straight forward. I imagine I have to keep on top of my weight loss and continuing to eat a low carb diet- potentially for the rest of my life? I'm still 10kg above a recommended weight for my height. But I feel a little more like I can relax a touch..
