Hi
Hope everyone is keeping well
Does anyone know what a good HBA1C reading is if you are on 2000mg of Metformin daily?
Is there any guidance on what dosage should reduce levels to?
Thanks in advance

Everyone is very different with what levels are acceptable and/or achievable. Just remember Metformin is by no means a solution on it’s own, you still need to watch what you eat, especially carbs and of course sugar.
I take Metformin and restrict my carbs to under 45g/day and have achieved HbA1cs in the 30s since a few months after diagnosis. However as I said we can’t suggest levels you should achieve on your dose of Metformin as we are all different.

Hi thanks for your response
I am told my levels are good (sometimes dip into pre diabetic range)
my diabetes is caused by pancreatic surgery so diet only helps a little if at all
I was just trying to see if there was guidelines on levels expected following administration of Metformin but if you as you say there is only individual responses then I won’t ever find out

As you have one of the less common types of diabetes, it might be wise to fill in those details on your profile. It will help other members give appropriate advice :)
