Hi all, Had my check up last week. Phoned the doctors today for my HBA1C results. The receptionist said it was Normal. What is that supposed to mean. I asked for the HBA1C number and she said she was not qualified to give it me. So does normal mean I'm not diabetic anymore. Or normal for a diabetic? What has the NHS become of late.

She should have added that it is something you have to discuss with your G.P. as she does not have the qualifications to advise you.
She was referring to the grading that came back with the HBA1c from the lab test.

You can ask for a printout of your results, but I believe some surgeries may ask for payment for doing this - mine doesn't.

I always ask for a print out,I was told you cant have it until the Dr has seen it.

Well supposedly in 3 weeks time from 1 April all GP surgeries should have your medical records online for you to access.
Somehow I doubt that mine and many others will though.

In Scotland, you can access Diabetes records online. However they have recently changed systems and there seems to be a glitch with mine.
