End of Jan 17 the big diagnosis, I was terrified, I know people who are already T2 and they are not having a good time!
Found out about LCHF through a couple of lovely ladies and have been reading here ever since, only posted a couple of times, but loved reading the what have you ate today thread.. Found and fell in love with the Lidl Protein Roll and Burgen Soya and Linseed Loaf, only in smaller quantities, maybe a couple of times a week! Ditched all sugar except for my nightly treat of one square of Lindt dark, started at 70%, hubby found some 78% in Germany (not on sale here unfortunately) and I am working my way up to 85%, from a confirmed milk chocolate eater to I prefer dark in three months. I have had a few naughties in LCHF terms but not the DN terms.. but some I cant eat anymore too sweet, and some I don't want to now!
The good news is in three and half months I have lost approx. a stone in weight, I want to lose another one, and I have upped my exercise, which was good, but even better now. Hba1C has gone from 51 to 43, pleased is a minor understatement, although a little frustrated that I didn't get 42 or under as so close, but the very bottom of the pre diabetic range is pretty amazing and way better than I ever expected. I aim to continue as I am sure that another stone and continued LCHF will get me back into Normal (controlled diabetic) range, and that is where I will work at staying..
Thanks for all the advice, its a great forum!
