I have been type 2 for approx 15 years and have never really got too hung up about my annual reviews etc. In February I was asked in to discuss my latest HBA1C result which was 97! I got a real wake up call and was determined to make a real difference. Today I got my result after 12 weeks of serious diet control, 48! I have lost 1.5 stone in weight and have reduced my carb intake to virtually zero. No bread, rice, potatoes or pasta but plenty of protein and a reasonable amount of fat, lots of cheese with nuts for snacking. I am posting this in the hope that it will give other people inspiration and understanding that it can be done if you really want to.
