Headaches!!

So did Nurse suggest anything that the headaches may be caused by ie are you on medication, have you looked at side effects of medication?

I have never heard of diabetes causing headaches directly, although some people may experience them if hyper or hypo.

All population get headaches, (which was probably her thoughts....) thats why supermarket shelves are full of tablets for them.

Are you logging times and days and what you have done before or ate before? Some people get migraines from cheese etc..has anything changed in your diet.
Has your life changed in someway?

If you have done all of this analysis for a while and can state to your GP what you have done to try and find cause then you may get a more valuable reaction...

It's not a classic sign but as we hear so often on here, no person's diabetes is the same. Many non-diabetics get regular headaches too though so you may just be unlucky !

I had a headache (and eye ache) for a couple of days after my oral glucose tolerance test. Also blurry vision. I assumed it was the sudden rise and fall of blood glucose, which I am not used to, because I eat low carb.

I originally went to the doctors because of headaches and was diagnosed type 2!
They still say there's no connection so I've started writing down when I have a headache and testing sugars etc..
Hopefully I'll see a pattern emerge and can then talk more to the doctor about it.
I do think there's a connection between sudden changes in blood levels and headaches but time will tell.

Hope they get better soon!

Funny you should bring up thus thread again, I wrote this the day after starting my new medication and havent had a headache since. Not sure if it was the stress of knowing my BS were out of control or the actually levels themselves but since my levels have been lower ive felt a lot better:D

I don't often get headaches but when I do it's usually because I've forgotten to drink enough. Instead of a pill I drink a lot of water and go for a walk if possible. I've read here that LCHF diet requires that water intake must be increased. Hope this helps.
