I find being in hospital extremely boring... sorry you are having to be a patient patient. (That was a little joke ;) )

Hope you get some answers soon.

Little update. Got admitted on the day. Have to get CT scan and yet another lumbar puncture :(
Got my eyes checked very well, with number of different drops and machines. Only thing they didn't do is vision field as my eyes couldn't handle it due to everything being blurry.
They saying it's my brain.... possibly MS or something equally teriffying :(

Nurses checking my sugar, this morning fasting it was 7.5 but last night at few times it was 2.5 so I had to drink some glucose through the night.

Good that you are getting checked out and I hope you are feeling better soon. It might not be MS... often they say these things to cover themselves but more often than not they turn out fine. If it is MS... there are different kinds and it can go into remission for long periods. It's early days but I know saying not to worry is easier said than done. Hang in there, mate. Hugs.

I thought I may update. I got out of hospital last Friday. Got few tests done including another LP and the pressure was borderline coma...higher than it was before and I am already on meds for that. They took 50ml of spinal fluid for testing and let me go home. I have to go back in on Thursday for another spinal tap to see if the pressure reduced or not. I am now on even more meds for this.... also during the stay my blood sugar was all over the place from 2.5 fasting to 25 fasting. All over the place after eating too. I got my eyes checked and they were fine except for my vision field which is going to be re tested on the 21st of this month.
No diagnosis as of yet :(
Thank you all for kind words and support

I think it's worse not knowing!
You don't know which way to turn or feel that what you are doing isn't right.
I hope that the pressure is eased and you don't have the spinal tap, it's not nice!
What were you eating to have that range of results?
Or was it the anxiety of being in hospital?

Thinking of you. Hugs.

Thanks for the update. Good luck with it all.

Unfortunately the only way to check the pressure is to have a spinal tap :( so Thursday I am going in for another one.
As for food, I have been eating whatever they gave me in hospital. Couldn't afford to be picky and to be honest I was too sick to be picky.

Back in hospital. Got that lumbar puncture today.
Opening pressure very high. Glucose levels in cervical fluid very low ( suppose to be 2/3 of the value in blood).
Was feeling fine, had to stay lying flat for 5h. The minute I got up pain hit and I fainted. The pain is terrible, I can't walk. Have to stay in hospital now for neurological observation. Pain is terrible I have to say... even moving around in bed is a challenge.

Get yourself comfortable and hope that the pain goes and you are able to go home.
Don't forget to get some answers!
Best wishes.

Oh Love, I am so sorry you are going through this.

Please keep us informed.

Hopefully a proper diagnosis is just round the corner.

They r letting me go home.
As for diagnosis is definitely intracranial hypertension. They put me on new drugs which are used to treat epilepsy and seizures. I am going back in 6 weeks for review but in mean time of anything happens ring neurology and come in.
Also I have been told NOT TO follow a low carb high fat diet while I am on these tablets as it is dangerous. He explained why but I cannot explain it myself.
Also advised to get that diabetes confirmed and controlled but with insuline as metformin cannot be taken with the drug they gave me.
And lose weight which I am doing anyways.

I am happy, the neurologist is lovely and he answered all my questions. He also said that undiagnosed and uncontrolled diabetes can make my condition worse so get on it. He gave me his private mobile number in case I have any questions or feel worse before he sees me again.

As for pain he said that my nerve in my back might of get touched during LP as in the middle of it my legs started shaking uncontrollably( I do recall nurse holding my legs but I didn't know why) which could move the needle but it should resolve in couple of days and I have to say it is a bit better today.

Thanks for all the wishes and crossed fingers. Hopefully I am now on right track :)

That's feels good don't it!
Know you now what's going on, you can start to get yourself better.
If you need anything further, just ask. This is just the start for you.
I'm so pleased that your neurologist gives you answers.
Best wishes.
