I use Lift blueberry glucose tabs followed by dried fruit.Hi folks
Has anyone found sugary sweets that do not contain palm oil, trans fats or other nasty additives? I would like to carry something for hypos when out & about that isn't too bad for me to eat. Standard glucose tablets are a bit sickening. Liquids not convenient, especially if flying.
Thanks very much
Interesting - compared to other sweets the ingredients are relatively less harmful. Hopefully others will follow suit. This could be the answer. Something that I can leave in my car or bag & won't melt. Luckily I don't get many hypos. ThanksI use fruit pastilles. Easy to carry and mostly sugar.
.. fruit pastilles or jelly babies are my go to for low sugarsInteresting - compared to other sweets the ingredients are relatively less harmful. Hopefully others will follow suit. True , but a useful 'standby' I keep in my car/bagFruit pastilles (and jelly babies) are liable to melt in the car on a hot day and you end up with a sticky lump.
That is unusual. The inside of smarties is chocolate based. The fat in chocolate will slow down the sugar absorption.2-4 smarties does the trick for my hypos.
Some GPs may provide glucogel on prescription but not all. I do not think it is that common. You can get FAST ACTING DEXTROSE GEL, on persciption.
