Hi mark3evo,life with 5:2 diet
Hi mark3evo,
I think you are looking at the wrong diet here.
I think the 5:2 Blood Sugar diet would be more what your after it's by the same author Dr Michael Mosley. Exactly the same idea intermittent fasting but with a greater focus on reducing blood sugar to reverse diabetes which in turn reduces cardio vascular issues.
IF I'm reading you right cancer cells thrive of sugar and reducing sugar is what you after.
Hope I'm not out of line suggesting this.
thanksthanks for sharing, seems you are doing the best you could choose to do, just want to wish all the best concerning the disease ... well done til now , send you a virtual hug dear...
As a type two diabetic simply eating things with no sugar would have little effect - I need to eat low carb foods - as starch is converted to sugar straight away - as soon as it is in my mouth the amylase in saliva starts to convert it, and I can't deal with sugars.
You may (or may not) want to look up ketogenic diets and cancer and maybe the work of Prof Thomas Seyfried.
Sure your right the only real difference is it's focus on losing weight fast, the intra abdominal fat, to reverse diabetes quickly.i'm certain Standard 5:2 fasting is pretty similar,
comments please on Fasting and lower IGF-1 Levels in relation to diabetes type II control
