Oh, I thought that the member part went by you joining not posting.Derry60-
I have just been reading the posts in that time, but not taking part. I have been building up my low carb practice, and moving from 1-1s to group work.
Ok, thank you for telling me.Derry - All that means is the OP joined in 2016, but didn't start posting until very recently. The titles are based on participation, not chronology.
Hi, I'm type 1 diabetic since 1986, I would love to be able to follow a low carb diet, not sure this is possible being vegan, any tips?
@Debandez. Hi thanks. I've been off line for a while. Health & othere problems & gone bit of track. I'm from Birmingham. Wish I'd known about meeting would have loved to meet up with other diabetics. Our surgery is c... No info given at all. I feel like I'm just a numbers. Thsnks. Have good day everyone
Hi, again, I appreciate the link. You are correct that people like you benefit from low carb eating. Your bariatric surgeon will advise this to get the weight off by cutting your carbs- that is the standard advice before surgery. You have said your liver has improved and I am not surprised by that. I cannot give medical advice, and this is just me talking to you about what I have seen on the internet as an ordinary person looking around, and it is amazing. Have you seen the zero carbers? People like 'Jeff Cyr- how a ketogenic diet saved my life' who is on a site called www.zerocarbzen.com. I will say no more, so have a look and talk to them by email. They were a revelation to me.
@Debandez hi thanks. Yeh hopefuly any ther meeting will happen. I was doing great but things been happening & made it solidification to keep on track but I must get myself back on track. It's my health after all. Again and thanksIt's great that you are back. That's a massive step you have taken. Fabulous. Back on track. Life can get in the way. That's life. I hope you are feeling better.Birmingham came together very quickly. Within 5 weeks. A lot of people couldnt make it due to short notice. But many could. It was a great event and welcomed by all. Just getting together face to face felt very special. We want to do another. Not sure when it will happen at the moment. Watch this space!
Dr Ian Lake maybe?I am on that list but would recommend any type 1s to download DiaTribe's e book
https://brightspotsandlandmines.org/
I have also come across interesting stuff on YOuTube including a low carb type 1 GP whose name I cannot recall for now.
I am trying a low carb approach as are a few other type 1s here.
Hello and welcome. I saw your presentation on YouTube, well done.
We are always discussing numbers here, blood glucose levels, A1c and the dreaded cholesterol numbers but you get to count the most important numbers because you can count up the number of people that you have helped to improve health, attain remission and avoid complications. You must get to smile every single day.
Dear @fatismyfriend. Could you please share how to get to your open sessions in Warrington Stockton Heath? Im new to low carb and found my fasting sugar is going up rather than down after being 20-30g carb for 2.5 weeks. Looks like I need more support. I would like to attend your sessions.
