I came here for advice and support in December 2013 with an OGTT looming, I was very anxious about this test in December. Anyway I finally had my OGTT and I got levels of 6.8mmo/l, 6.7mmo/l and 4.8mmo/l which ruled out diabetes.
However I am still retching and dry heaving everyday and since I was last on here I have been to a Gastroenterologist and had 30 blood tests done all of which were fine.
Today I had my first Glucose Fasting test since December 2013 when I had my OGTT. I also had a HBA1C test, never had the latter before.
I have cancelled 2 Gastroscopies.
WHY AM I STILL RETCHING AND DRY HEAVING ON A DAILY BASIS WITH NO OTHER SYMPTOMS AT ALL???
I am convinced that Glucose is playing a role in this symptom as this is the only blood test out of all the tests I have had done since last September that has come back with elevated levels so this must point to a Glucose related disorder.

Full Blood Count X2 - CLEAR
Bone Profile X2 - CLEAR
Anti-TTG X2 - CLEAR
IgA X2 - CLEAR
Thyroid Function X2 - CLEAR
Liver Function - CLEAR
Renal Function - CLEAR
Lipids - CLEAR
CRP - CLEAR
U&E - CLEAR
immunoglobulins - CLEAR
Serum Protein Electrophoresis - CLEAR
8x SiGe

Any advice is really appreciated guys
Thank you so much.

Hi
Any reason for cancelling the Gastroscopies, as I really think they would help you finding a reason for your problem. Could be an ulcer ?
Due to a problem with Veins in my Stomach, I have to have Gastroscopies every 6 weeks to sort out the problem.
I've had 4 so far this year, and there is really nothing to worry about.
You are Sedated, and remember nothing, fell nothing, and at worst have a scratchy throat for a few hours.
You normally go into Hospital but are out the same day.
I really think you should reconsider
All the Best let me know :)

Don't know why you think you are disbetic or why you cancelling minor ops that could find the true probs,

Please don't waste gp's, consultants and other peoples time when there are people wueuing up to have urgent ops that you have cancelled. Ulyou get them done, and start to listen to specialists or you can stay believing you have glucose probs...

To be honest, not a lot of advice anybody can give you here besides have the ops

Hi Randburg. I cancelled both because I am not brave enough. Also I have no heartburn, no dysphagia, no indigestion, no vomiting, no nausea, no regurgitation and no bloating or any pain of any kind.
I did consider that I may have an ulcer but the lack of these symptoms made me doubt.
I have no idea why I am retching/dry heaving on a daily basis for the past 3 years.

You are not medically qualified... So why are you going on your own judgements, googling and fears rather than just having a literal minor op?

Sorry, its harsh, but you may well just have a pschyological problem at certain times etc that gives you these reactions..

Sorry, the NHS is there to help you, uf you don't take the help they offer what do you expect us to do for you?

I have had issues with my Glucose Fasting levels in recent months. That's why I think I may have a problem with diabetes. I gave levels of 7.9mmo/l, 6.7mmo.l, 6.8mmo/l, 6.7mmo/l and 4.8mmo/l over a period of 3 months in 2013. I had a Glucose test done today to query pre-diabetes and I also had an HB1AC test as well today along with the Glucose Fasting test.

As I have them every 6 weeks or so, there is really nothing to worry about, I hate Dentists for example and would rather have a scope than visit a dentist,
I really think it would be well worth it to try, the Needle prick to put you under is honestly the worst part, and in 5 to 10 minutes they can check for many things, and rule out problems that are not there.

I am not making my own judgements and I don't google anything. I am an anxious person and it may well be a psychogenic issue seeing as I have no other symptoms. I don't know why you are getting so stressed ??? I cancelled both endoscopies weeks in advance so don't panic, somebody else would have got my appointments.

Hi do you mind if I ask why you have to have one every 6 weeks? Is your stomach condition linked to diabetes?

I have been anxious since I was 16 and haven't felt right since then, however the retching only started in 2013 badly. I have no history of any medical event as a child I.E. I have always been physically healthy!!!

Any diagnosis is a process of elimination; but you state you are not brave enough to cooperate with the process of elimination, preferring to insist on taking one track, which earlier tests suggest is likely to be a blind alley.

Whilst I know mis diagnosis is possible, and sadly it does happen, currently, you are part of the problem, if you will not participate in the diagnostic process. We sometimes have to go well outside our comfort zones in order to help ourselves. Without a positive diagnosis, you may not achieve a solution.

Frankly, you need to decide if you want the answer, or only the answer you want to hear.

Once again, AndBreathe is the nasty person, but you do need to decide what part you're going to play in this matter.

Anything major happen in your life to coincide with 16?

What do you mean you are the nasty person?? And I think you make some very valid points here :)

Left school, that's about it. But I haven't been right since.

Yep, so did I.. But in my case I have never been healthier since leaving that germ pit...

What were your feelings about school..?

I have recently been in hospital for tests for my condition and that was not a pleasant thing,, the bay I was in was disruptive and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I have had the scope more than ten times. My brother dry retched for years, this was because he was always nervous and worried, when he found a way to relax and worked at not worrying about everything and nothing, then the symptoms eased. You may have a glucose disorder or you may have a hiatus hernia, you may never know until you actually have the MINOR op. And find out!

The worst is not knowing, it is better to get it all over with and then you know. You will keep retching until you do!

My nightmare is glucose testing, if I don't take my meds. I know I'm going to feel dreadful for a couple of days after. I have one in three weeks and one in two months. I am not looking forward to them! But it is the only way I will get life back in control, and feeling better than I have in years!

Loved school, felt very upset since I have left.

Bingo.!

Get your medical tests done.. Then get professional counselling.. You GP should refer you..

As an aside my dad would occasionally wretch when stressed. Normally due to emotional upset like a row with my mum..
