to come here..I suppose I was in denial.
I am having problems adjusting to the medication..My body does not like it :(
Metformin..I seem to be able to cope with one pill ( am trying to accept second one)
Anyone had probs with this ?
 
Sorry..I am 56 years old..diagnosed in Feb 2010 ..not a clue what I am doing here :oops:
Get lots of excercise..am slightly over weight and I smoke
 
Is it giving you an upset stomach?

If so you can ask your doctor for the slow release version which is what I was switched over to, for me it hasnt caused any problems at all.

Hi there Doglady. I am a cat person myself as you can see from my avatar but I love dogs too. In fact I just love most animals. I am a type 2 as well. I take Metformin but haven't had any of the frequent problems associated with it. Welcome to the forum. :)
 
Thank for replies..I am on a trial at mo with this darn pill ( promised the nurse I would keep going for 2 weeks) I am bloated, got los of funny rumbling noises going on ..sigh.
I reall y have to get my head round all this stuff..I have been in denial too long..and oh heck..I LOVE chocolate :oops:

The good news is that you dont have to give up choc you just need to change the type you eat to very high cocoa .There are some good ideas on the forum have a good look round and experiment

:? oh heck..I have read the bit about metformin..I had a terrible mouth infection and swelling on hols recently..must go to my GP on Monday.
Seriously..this is not agreeing with me..I feel most unwell..and I ahve very little appetite..
Sooo glad I came here :D
 
Do you take the metformin with food? I can only tolerate it if I take it right in the middle of a meal, not even half an hour after a meal, and if I took it before a meal :shock:

hello, i have had type 1 for 21 years, i am a pumper for the last 6 years. Only had my computer 5 days, so please excuse any mistakes, thought i would say hello to everyone and practice using a computer.

Yes with food..The morning one ( after many weeks is ok)
I am so trying hard with evening one..dont like it at all..feel awful.
I am going to see my GP this week..Where I live, the Diabetic nurses are in charge of treatment..Hmmm.
I have problems with my immune system ( for 6 years due to Coxakie virul infection).I feel the problem is with MY body..not the drugs. :roll:
My job is physical..I cant be rotten in the morning ..got to get on with life.
Really my levels are way down and hoping that I can work with diet and my walking
