Hi, I'm Neil, 47 male diagnosed midway through last year with type 2 diabetes and a very high blood sugar level.

Wish I'd found a community like this before. I've managed to get my blood sugar down from 12 to 9 over the first three mionths but it's hardly gone down over the past three and am looking for advice.

Hello, welcome.
Well done on lowering blood glucose, as you have. Not easy, particularly without much support, and during a pandemic.
How did you do it? Are you on any medication? What specific advice are youlooking for?
I know, too many questions. How about having a look at advice for new members. The link is in my signature. After you have had a read, come back and ask some questions of your own. Lots of helpful folk here will be willing to advise.

Welcome!

Hi and welcome. Can you let us know whether you are 'normal' weight or have lost weight unexpectedly recently? What sort of foods do you eat and have you reduced the carbs?

Greetings, I was the same age when diagnosed.
How many carbs do you eat per meal/day ?
Have you lost weight since diagnosis ?

Hello and welcome,

Well it appears that you have a meter and test regularly- is that true?

If you let us know what medication you are on that would be helpful. The advice may change if you are on any medication other than metformin.

My suggestion is if you are only on metformin is to log the carb s in your meals and the levels before and after. You should then look at lowering the carbs in your meals-and seeing g what effect that has on your levels.

Having said that be aware that stress and illness also have an effect on your levels.

Good luck and welcome.
