Help Bleeding Feet!!

Hi, I've just come back from 4 nights away in this country at the sea, in my camper van. I have worn sandals for the first time this year and within 2 days my feet were cracked and bleeding. No particular hard skin. Very sore to walk on. I am type 2 but take insulin. I will buy some flexitol, but would like to know what causes this. Thanks in advance. PS the avatar makes me look like a man, but \\i am a woman.

If you have open wounds etc then you need to be v alert to the possibility of infection getting in through that route and keep them covered

My great aunt knitted woollen socks on 3 needles. It always fascinated me. My dad would wear nothing else.

I remember that. They taught me at school to knit on 3 and 4 needles. Not sure I could do it now though.

Agree with you comment on "worth every penny".

On socks... I have drawers full of socks in my vain attempt to find ones that I am happy with... I now wear wool ones... they are looking a bit thin at the heal though... and they don't give them away.

I got quite a collection of socks on Amazon and quite colourful they are too. They are the diabetic socks so the tops are not tight. I've managed to find a few nice soft pairs in M&S too. The socks don't really bother me as I always wear trousers/jeans or a long dress if I have to be dressy. This is because I can only wear flat shoes due the spinal injuries and I've always thought dresses and flats don't look right.

Oh, £32! ! ! When I was a child, I had a corn eye on my hand and bought a corn-eye sticker. It took a lot of more than a week, a few dollars -- the RMB. There are no scars on my hands now. Hahaha

Are you under the High Wycombe hospital diabetes team?

I'm type II so I never get to see anyone at Wycombe General. I've been seeing my podiatrist and paying for the pleasure for so long it's like paying for my haircut, happens just as frequently as well. I appreciate that I'm fortunate to be in a position to pay.
