hi guys, I’m sorry for sounding like a broken record, however the pain and ridiculousness of my situation are increasing simultaneously..

the pain in my feet is beyond unbearable now, it’s all I think about day and night, I am becoming very depressed and my gradual inactivity has led to a huge increase in my blood pressure.

but get this! rather than treating my feet or helping me, the doctor has put me on blood pressure tablets, I am 19!! I took the tablet yesterday and i felt sick and awful the entire day, it took me 4 weeks to get the doctors appointment and I cried the entire time about my pain, the doctor suggested it was growing pains!! I’ve never been so upset or patronised in my life, today has been the worst for pain. My feet are MASSIVE, completely swollen and I can’t walk on them! I am supposed to be going to Greece in 4 days and have no idea what to do, I feel trapped, alone and miserable :’(

I have tried contacting my diabetic nurses but to no avail, I have left messages and they have yet to contact me, i won’t be able to get another doctors appointment now as their appointments and fully booked for weeks in advance, what do I do? :(

I have tried my best to upload two photos, one is when my feet are elevated and the other is when I stand up just so I can show you what I’m working with (or not working with, so to speak)

sorry for moping again, it’s becoming a constant thing now and I am usual a very positive person, thank you for any help in advance .View attachment 26205View attachment 26206

Do you have a walik in centre nearby? If you have go to themif not as your GP surgery for an emergency appointment. Good luck x

Can you get to your diabetic clinic and see one of the DSNs there? Pretty sure they will be able to give you some advice?

If you're in the UK you could try the 111 service, they can let the doctors surgery know that need an emergency appointment if they think you need one - or they may even suggest A&E.

Call off Greece if you're in that condition ... and get some decent care ... I wish you well

2 years ago my Diabetes doctor changed my long acting insulin from Lantus to Levimer and shortly afterwards i started getting chronic foot and ankle pain i also found i was having to increase the amount to keep levels the same, i didnt link the pain with the change, many gp and foot clinic appoinments later i was virtually unable to walk 200 yards without having to stop and rest, i then came across a link on here about the possibility that the insulin change could be the problem, i spoke with clinic again who said it was very unlikely, fortunately for me i still had some of my original lantus so i swapped back and improvement was immediate and within 10 days i was literally back to where i had been and back to walking mountains for fun,
i dont know if it will help but it may well be worth trying a different insulin if you can
