Help. I'm high.

If the Newcastle Diet says 800 calories a day..
Is there a guide to how many grammes of carbohydrates we should be aiming for?
Newcastle diet doesn’t count grammes of carbs, just calories.
If using meal replacement shakes it is easy to count the carbs consumed though, by checking the nutrition list on the packaging.
If consuming real food , apps such as my fitness pal and carbs and cals can be useful.

Thankyou for the reply.
In terms of planning post Newcastle Diet.
I'm definitely leaning towards a fast.
I've seen one by "Mastering Diabetes" that's 24 hours. (Not a problem for me) Or the time restrictive 16:8.
I'm trying to work out which one would be the best for insulin resistance.
But as others have said, depends on the individual I guess.

We are all different particularly when it comes to carb intake. I have managed to maintain a non diabetic hba1c for approx 12 years whilst consuming up to 130g of carbs per day (though it’s often less) but this is a lot higher than many other forum members who consume a lot lower than that amount.
I’ve only had one experience of a liquid diet similar to the low cal ND and it made me so ill that my GP told me to go home and have a good meal as my metabolism was so efficient it was shutting down my body to conserve energy but when you taper down/come off the diet let your BS meter guide you and, by testing, you will be able to see what foods you can and should not eat and determine the level of carbs that suit you.
