Hey Family !

T1D Here, Just Recently checked my Sugar and My Sugar Level is at 58 At the moment. Usually when I’m running Low, I’ll know because I’ll start sweating and/or feeling shaky. Funny thing is, atm I don’t feel any symptoms. I’m not hungry, shaky, nor am I hungry or feeling confused. Is this normal ?

T2 here so not quite qualified to answer, but if you have a test that's not what you're expecting, wash hands, test again, or check your CGM if you have one of those. You could have hypo unawareness. (If you hypo a lot your body stops registering it until you basically hit the floor, and then it's a bit late). Check again, and treat with glucose, even if you have no hypo symptoms. If your meter is correct you could be feeling nothing if hypo-unawareness has crept in.

The majority of the time I will know I'm hypo but occasionally I don't get the warning signs or symptoms, if I happen to test and find I am hypo, it's a surprise.
I don't know if there is a reason for it but I don't think it's something to worry about, if you do normally know when you're hypo

Yeah I did, both readings came back the same so I was pretty shocked ! I must read up on this Hypo-Unawareness this is my first time hearing about it !

Thank you so much !

Yes I found it shocking that this even happened as this is my first time going so low with no symptoms! I felt totally fine !! Thank you so much !

@Tee_Rockz . Hoping that you’ve managed to get your BS levels back up to a more acceptable level.
All hypos are different in how they affect us, this may just be a one off.
I’ve found down the years that if my sugars are falling very very slowly over a long period of time then my hypo symptoms can be next to non existent. It’s the rapid falls in a short space of time that generally hit the hardest.
May be worth looking at what caused you to go low and see if you can differentiate this hypo from others.

Yes thank you ! It’s just shocking that this is the first time it’s happening with NO symptoms. I’m kind of nervous now because of this happens again and I’m unaware I could run into serious problems
