Have been using a CGM for 6 months and am achieving good control. Last hb1ac was 7.1 (April 26)and in range for 79% of the time.
I am eating the same food as previously but now…just cannot get below 9-10 every morning. So add my meals to this and I’m hitting 14 regularly.
Breakfast is any combination of egg, bacon, sausages and mushrooms. Lunch would be a low carb wrap with prawns or tuna in mayo.
Evening meal protein and vegetables, no potatoes, rice maybe once a week. Chocolate 80% as a treat with coffee at night.
I really need to get this down, but have no idea how to achieve this! If I miss a meal or don’t eat breakfast, my levels go higher.
These high readings have only been in the last two weeks and the only thing different is the weather!! It’s 34 here today

I am wanting to pass out from the heat, but my problem regulating my BG began before the heatwave and hasn't got worse with it. Also consider: Are you getting dehydrated? Are you sleeping poorly, exercising less, more stressed? All connected with the heatwave and could play havoc with BG control.

People report different things. My BGs are low to begin with but tend to be substantially lower in warmer (>30c) weather. I have no idea whether that's because of the heat in itself or because my behaviour and eating changes. Most of my evidence comes from abroad....I probably drink more alcohol, which also lowers BGs, so I can't say with any certainty what the prime mover is.

My levels have been all over the place since this heatwave. I have taken my Dexcom off as it was going off the chart. I have not been able to workout so that has contributed. Sleep has been terrible and I normally love the hot weather when visiting relatives in Sicily, but here its a humid heat apposed to a dry heat. Supposed to be cooler at the weekend where I am. Sleeping on the tiles is not an option in our house, but abroad we did that a lot and woke up to lizards also lol!

Thanks for the replies.
Think I might ignore the Dexcom for a few days and go back to finger pricking. The constant checking on the high numbers are obviously stressing me out.

I don't have the wherewithal to measure my blood glucose, but I did have my annual blood test on Monday and am waiting to hear about my Hba1c results (the only result they haven't put on-line, Grr!) when I speak to the doctor this coming Monday. But since being on the Ascend Plus trial (see elsewhere on these forums) I have lost significant weight and have started having hypos, usually before lunch (my breakfast expires!). But this morning I woke up with one, couldn't go and do the tai chi practice I'd wanted to (class has been cancelled this week due to the heat), and had to down my orange juice before I could even finish preparing my overnigiht oats! Once I'd actually eaten my breakfast, I stopped feeling quite so jelly-legs and cross, but I'm now not looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning in case it happens again! It must be the heat, as that's the only thing that's changed recently.
