.................and I now have an appointment with the Diabetic Nurse/Clinic. I have this feeling she's going to tell me I'm diabetic..................I know its a long shot (especially as I don't know anything yet) but can anyone put my mind at rest as to what I might expect from this meeting.
It's anyone's guess what the talk'll be about. Whether your numbers are prediabetic or diabetic, I hope you know there's a lot you yourself can do to tackle diabetes; before it even forms, or after it hits. First thing you do, at this appointent, is get a print out of all your testresults. They won't mean anything to you at this point, most likely, but they will eventually. You need to know where you're at so you know where you're headed. (So make it a standard practice to ask for those result. They're quite motivating!). If you need help interpreting the numbers, we're right here to help. Secondly, https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/blog-entry/the-nutritional-thingy.2330/ is my own quick-start guide. It's everything I wish someone'd told me when I first started out, because I was clueless and scared out of my mind. Which basically goes for almost all of us here. I hope it'll give you a bit of hope to hold on to. (It's a lot of information in a short little bit, because there's a wealth of information online, here at diabetes.co.uk, dietdoctor.com and in books like The Diabetes Code, but the main thing about the info, that needs to sink in first, is ALL IS NOT LOST, which is what it comes down to. After that you can hit the books/net in earnest.Hi
I have previously being told by my GP that I was classed as prediabeties. I have recently had a blood test for various other things (I have high blood pressure) and I now have an appointment with the Diabetic Nurse/Clinic. I have this feeling she's going to tell me I'm diabetic.
I'm trying not to let this get to me but it is. I don't know any readings or levels yet but true to form with me I'm expecting worse case scenario.
I know its a long shot (especially as I don't know anything yet) but can anyone put my mind at rest as to what I might expect from this meeting.
