Type of diabetes
Type 1
I have been a type 1 since 2012, my hba1c is still at 9!
I have tried everything, was on insulitard actrapid moved to novorapid and lantus, tired toujeo and now am on tresiba.
I have constant fluctuations from a 20 to a 2 and feel very tired. My doctor just prescribed Januvia, hoping it would stabilize my readings, but getting hypos before bed, from 8-10 pm.

Any ideas help.

Please, I would like to have meal plan for a day or two, to see how you manage your carbs.

Hello @elfar723 Sorry to hear about your levels..

You can do a few things to sort this, but please start with doing some basal fasting tests, getting your basal insulin dose set at the right level is the foundation for good control: http://www.salforddiabetescare.co.uk/index2.php?nav_id=1007

It's quite straight forward but you can see then if you basal dose needs adjusting, once this is sorted you can then look at your bolus ratios to check that they are covering you for your carb intake.

Let us know how you get on ?

Oh yes, I count everything! I will try to fast to check my tresiba. thanks a million

I appreciate if you could give me sample meal plans for a day or two.

While your testing the basal, carb free meals is the best......

its quite important to get that basal dose sorted as quick as you can because you can then tackle the meal time spiking and fluctuations...

Hi @elfar723 If you are fasting then you need to do just that and just drink water for the duration of the fast to get an accurate result from the test.

What sort of carb level would you like to eat at? I’m very low carb, so my meals might not be what your after, but if you click on the links at the bottom of my sig, you can see the sort of things I eat, complete with nutrient breakdown, recipes and quantities x
