Hi, I am new to this Forum and have joined for some advice, Please

A little history. About 2 years ago I starting having all the classic signs of Diabetes, did blood tests and Glucose test all came back ok. I then went to hospital for 3 days and was starved, just drank water. Tests came back ok but I still did not feel well.

Recently (4 weeks ago) I had a 24 hr Urine test as yet still waiting for results.

My BS is normally, pre meal 4.3 and 2 hours after a meal 5.5 ish. The thing is; it feels as though I react to Carbs, too many and I get Tinnitus and a burning in the back of the head along with a sweet taste in my mouth. Not enough and I get a pain in the Adrenals, the pain can be that bad that it takes me off my feet. Only relieved by a slice of toast and a cup of tea/something to eat and drink.

My toilet habbits have also changed and my stools are on average loose. They sometimes start off hard and then loosen.

I dont eat too many Carbs as a rule but when I do I binge. For example, once a week Pizza and Garlic bread, This will result in the above. Tinnitus etc

I am finding it hard to get a happy medium, I am sort of fit, I swim 3 times a week (40-60 lengths) and do some light weight training (30-40 mins) using light weights.

Any advice or light on this situation would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance...................Lee

Basically nobody can give any sort of diagnosis regarding your symptoms. No one here is qualified to advise you.

You are not a diagnosed Diabetic so all I would advise is that you see your GP about your problems and see what the results of any tests that you may have reveal.

I understand this. However GP's/DRs look at me as though I am an Allien when I tell them my symptoms one even laughed when I told him about my sweet taste and said that he had never heard of it before. I was Just wondering if this could be some sort of Pre Diabetes??????????? :?: and written out of frustration as you can imagine it is driving me mad..............Lee

I understand your frustration Lee.....problem is there are no medical professionals here, we are in the main just Diabetic's and it would be wrong to suggest that you may or may not be Diabetic or even pre-Diabetic. It would be wrong to suggest something to you when we do not know the facts.
A simple thing like some medication you may be taking could be a cause........?? Sweeteners, low carbing, gastrointestinal disorders. Who knows.

Your symptoms/feelings could be down to many things totally unrelated to Diabetes and we do not encourage people to try to self diagnose.

All I can suggest is that you get a second opinion from a HCP who knows all your medical history and has the ability to order tests if required. If it turns out it is Diabetes related we are only too happy to assist. At this point in time I'm afraid we cannot.

Justfocus, the answers from Cugila are in line with this Forum's policies. We cannot guess and diagnose another members condition. We do not know their medical history and it is specifically for their safety that no one here can say 'Oh it is this or that' . Only the members doctor or Consultant can do this.

It is better to have professional help than a second guessed diagnosis which may cause the member even more unwarranted stress.

Thanks sugar
however if you know the full content of every post in your forum both you and cugila contradict your statements that you have just made sorry for pointing this out as some people get complacent telling members seriously dangerious things about there meds .I wouldn't have posted anything but it seems legally both moniters have overstepped there mark .And can make themselves above others however A forum is a place of open ideas of its members .Should you and cugila disagree with this please let me know . :D

Anything posted here by either myself or Cugila about medication is researched and sourced from the BNF the British National Formulary, the reference book that Doctors and HCP's such as myself use. Please state where either of us have posted dangerous information about drugs on this Forum.

I have sent you a pm.

We are both Monitors and Moderator's not ordinary members and we look after the Forum on a daily basis. If you wish to take issue with anything here then the correct place to address that is through the Administrator, not on the open Forum. That is Forum Policy which you agreed to when you joined.

As for misinformation, I would be interested to know where we are supposed to have posted such bad advice ?

the correct way is actually to inform the asa.And should i see anyone been belittled i shall use my legal rights (as a disabled person) i hope this closes the matter .But please remember anyone is entitled to there opinion and don't expect written abuse for sharing it .The last thing anyone wants when they are down is to be kicked in the teeth . :D

We suggest that you contact the Administrator about the way the forum is run using his rules. We are not here to be belittled and ridiculed by any member. You can air your concerns and unfounded accusations with him.

As far as we are concerned that is the end of the matter.

Forum Monitor's

The matter was closed by myself. End of :D :D :D

JF. Thanks for the welcome. Yes I have. I had a bad fall down a 3 metre ladder appox 7 years ago, I had my knee rebuilt; badly and have suffered ever since. Please elaborate........

Hey Lee,
I am afraid I agree with the monitors. You really need to go back to your GP and sit in their waiting room until they agree to do further tests. We don't like being pushy in this country but sometimes it's the only thing that works. Seeing a different GP helps sometimes too, as they all tend to have different interests and specialities and what goes over one's head might just ring some bells with another. Don't just put up with it though. Good luck!
