I suffer also with health anxiety and I had my blood test Thursday, the next day I got a call to have an urgent repeat of U and Es has anyone else had this happen and could give me some positive advice please

Apparently it’s kidney function and electrolytes, so of course I’m thinking I’ve got kidney disease or something

Us & Es are Urea & Electrolytes and are very common blood tests that are used for a lot of conditions so try not to read too much into it, like @Fenn said they could have lost your results or your blood sample could have deteriorated so couldn’t be tested - I’ve had that happen to me.

Try to relax and not to get too anxious, it’s easy to say that I know but worry is hard on your health. I always try and book my bloods for early in the week usually in the morning then they go the same day from my surgery

I was in a similar position earlier this year. It turned out the blood wasn’t stored correctly so the result came as abnormal. The retest was fine. Let’s hope it’s the same with yours.

I just got asked to go back to the docs to repeat a blood test for U and E following a recent blood test where my hba1c improved dramatically with 3 months of eating better and walking

Hi @Hydrema. Well done you for the big improvement in your health as a person with T2D! It's no mean feat, as we know.

So you can win, in terms of getting better with type two. Absolutely!

Getting correct results from those blood and urine tests is a really important part of our health being tracked by the medical professionals, and I would say - this is what they do well! Testng, and interpreting these results, to keep an eye on our organ health.

So I personally would not see a call to get repeats, or a phone call for a chat about results as a bad thing at all - but a very good thumbs up for your medical centre/doc/diabetes team.
