Help understand number

Hi,

My diabetes nurse said my number is 94 that my blood sugar had come down from 104 but what does the number represent? Mmol or mg/dL? I know that I’m not in a healthy range, I would like to know what is a healthy range and what the number represents. If anyone could help with that thanks. Damon UK
 
Hi @Ikuo and welcome to the forum. Those numbers sound like your HbA1c level. Have a read of this article I think it’ll explain it much better than I could. If you have questions afterwards please come back and ask. There’s plenty of members willing to help.

The HbA1c score in mmol/mol (and I'm guessing thats what your 94 is) and is an average score over 3 months, blood glucose meters are either in mmol/L (for the UK and many other places) or mg/dl (for the US and some others), is not the same measurement as the HbA1c result.

If you put your score of 94 into the 'IFCC - mmol/mol' box on the page I linked you can see that is an estimated reading of 14.5mmol/L which is high
