How to manage night regime of insulin dose as I'm injecting 12 units of actrapid and 10 units of basalog and still early morning blood sugar swings are pretty common around 200 to 220 or 240. Type 1 diabetic since 6yrs and struggling to manage it even with high insulin doses probably around total 40 units a day. Please help and suggest

Why are you taking 12 unit bolus to go to bed? Is that a correction dose? Seems quite a high correction dose, generally the advice is if you are taking a correction before bed set an alarm to check you don't drop too low at 2 or 3am

Have you done basal testing to check you basal dosage is right for you? If you're on 40 units a day but only 10 units of basal that's 25/75 split basal/bolus. The general rule is it should be around 50/50. Obviously, whether that works for the individual is dependent on a lot of things, so 50/50 might not be right for you, but it's worth bearing in mind in considering whether your basal dose is right for you. The first step in finding out would be to do a basal test.

A total daily dose of 40 units isn't a particularly high insulin dose.

Welcome @subu94 I second the advice to do a basal test first.

Are you counting carbs and adjusting your bolus insulin? How many times a day do you inject? Do you test during the night to see when the rise starts?
