@rg2203 - I'm neither supporting that you have diabetes, but just wanted to say, Type 2 diabetes is sadly nt uncommon in younger people - especially if they carry any excess weight. I'm wondering you you have a few excess pounds at the moment?

Although markedly older than you, my T2 diagnosis was out of the blue. I'll spare you the details, but I was totally asymptomatic. When I read the NHS dietary advice I was further dumbfounded as it almost perfectly described my existing way of eating.

Whilst fasting blood glucose numbers are interesting, the most informative one were the ones taken 2 hours after eating. I routinely tested immediately before eating, the 2 hours later. That started a reveal where my personal issues lay.

Has your GP made a referral to a Diabetes Consultant, or are you seeing the specialist at your surgery?

Edited to add, it would be useful to test yourself in the foregoing manner before changing your diet too much. It might help.
