I agree with @Goonergal. If you want to reduce your blood glucose levels, there is little point in reducing fat intake. Fat is not the thing that has made your blood glucose rise. It is much more likely that your system is showing signs of being unable to process carbohydrate properly, leading directly to the rise in blood glucose shown by the HbA1c test.

Carbohydrate (all carbohydrate, including starches and sugars) when digested becomes glucose, and should be available to your cells as fuel via the action of insulin. If the insulin doesn't have the effect it should, the glucose stays in the bloodstream and you get the blood glucose rises that T2s are familiar with.

The way to reduce the level of glucose in your bloodstream is to reduce the intake of starches and sugars through changing your diet. There are a number of ways of doing this and you need to find the method that works for you.

High blood glucose can, on its own, do a lot of damage to your body's systems, for example to your nervous system. I usually recommend getting hold of a glucose meter so you can test your blood levels and see what impact particular foods have on your bloods.

The good news is that your A1c is only just out of normal range, and it should be possible to get back to the level where you were very quickly. I reduced my starting A1c of 50 to 38 (iirc, in the sig block below) in under four months. Others have started at much higher levels and seen the same sort of success.

Hi, @Cabrinil2018 . Just wondering how you managed to reduce your HbA1c from your high level at diagnosis. 104 ,if I recall correctly? That is some achievement. Any medication? Or was that due to diet changes? Can you think of anything that you have done since that could be the cause of the slight increase in HbA1c recently?
