Hi tambo 1876 here I am on novomix 30 I have been put on a 4mm needle 4 weeks ago and I can not get my blood sugers in the ball park and getting to many hypos has anybody had the same problem

Where are you based @tambo1876 ? NICE guidelines say type 1s in England and Wales should be on a basal bolus regiem rather than mixed insulin.

Mixed insulin requires consistent intake of carbs at consistent times through the day to avoid hypos and hypers. Have you been given any guidence on what kind of carb intake your insulin dose is designed to be covering?

Hi. Is there any reason you were put on an insulin mix rather than Basal/Bolus? The latter gives much better control as you can adjust for your meal-time carbs; it is the NICE recommended regime for T1s. Mixed insulin does mean fewer injections which for some people with early T1 can be OK, but not the best long-term. I suggest you ask your GP to change you to Basal/Bolus for better BS control?

Hi everybody I have been a type 1 for about 30 years I live in Scotland east Lothian it's about 5 6 years I was put on the novomix no info about the carbs think I will have to go to the hospital and see the doctor was at the golf this morning checked the blood when I got home 22.5 not good
