Posting this for my sister who isnt a member yet.

Been type 1 for 30 years. 2 kids so quite active, however, recently went to slimming and is 5st overweight.

Takes Lantus once daily and NovoRapid with meals. Plus a daily multivitamin (& laxatives once a week as she cant go toilet without them)

Goes swimming once or twice a week, depending on what thw kids want to do.

So, here's the question...

They eat a healthy diet, no junk food at all, kids would rather snack on a piece of fruit than crisps or sweets. What can she do to help kick start the weight loss?

SW focusses on calorie reduction so she should see some weight loss over the coming months, just be sure if she does reduce her portion sizes at meals (obviously we are talking about carbs) she will need to adjust her insulin doses.

I've hear that constipation could be a symptom of hypothyroidism, as well as weight gain.....

worth a test I think.....
