This is my first time posting anything on a forum, it's not something i would normally even consider but my local GP and practice nurse have run out of ideas.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 about 6 1/2 years ago and have never got it under control for various reasons.

1) I have a serious needle phobia. seen a psychologist for about 6 months and can now do my own injections most of the time but it can take me up to an hour. I cant let anyone else near me with a needle

2) Due to viral stomach ulcers in my teens (I'm now 45) i can only eat one meal per day, usually an evening meal. Any more than that and i usually vomit.

3) Diagnosed with M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyeltis)/CFS (Chronic fatigue syndrome) about 6 years ago, this means keeping active is very difficult at best and unable to get out of bed for days on end at worse. Also Suffer chronic pain and I'm sure the M.E. has a negative impact on blood sugar levels.

My last few HbA1c have went from low 80's to 96 for my last one

The last specialist nurse left the area 3 years ago and has never been replaced and nearest hospital is a 120 mile round trip which i have to drive as there is no adequate public transport.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Hi @Aydor

That sounds like a lot of problems there. I'm sorry you're having it so hard.

My first thought is isn't there some kind of diabetes nurse at your GP surgery? If not and you're finding the travel to hospital exhausting, do you have the phone number of a hospital diabetes centre so you can speak to a DSN?

What insulin regime are you on? Do you count carbs?

Do you get any help with the ME?
