Making sure hands are clean,
Take a tissue
Fold in half.
Then fold bottom edges to the middle and run fingers along bottom crease to ensure it stays folded.
Take top edge and fold forward down over to bottom edge.
Press fingers along top crease to ensure it stays.
You should have a long piece about 2.6 cm (1 inch)wide.
While Holding both ends with thumb and middle fingers stretch left hand index finger (one next to thumb) to middle of tissue and bring both ends together .
Firm well along creases to hold in place.
It should now stay in place .
Keep in with your testing kit and tear off a small piece at one end each time you test to wipe away blood.
It is always there when you need so no more hunting for tissue or waste of complete tissue each time you text.
When it gets towards end just fold another tissue ready to use.
Hope that helps.

Reminds me of the instruction for folding a Brownie's tie back in the 1960's! Probably got blood on that too.

I just suck my finger!

Someone was bound to say it, you got there first, Prem!

I do that with the strip too...don't want any excess blood messing things up when I leave them lying around on my desk at work. Oops, that's another bad habit.

If I just sucked my finger I would leave a trail of blood around the house/workshop for 10 minutes after every test! I wrap the pricked finger in a small piece of tissue and tuck the finger in my palm for a few minutes, as I go about my day.

I don't like the taste of blood (it's a bit rusty for my palate) so a bit of tissue every time for me. Thanks for the folding tip, @Sinulae - perhaps I should adopt that approach rather than relying on the ubiquitous scrag end of tissue in my pocket!

:)

I suck mine, I don't want to waste any blood so I recycle it! :wacky:

Hi @Sinulae ,

A warm welcome to the forum!

Don't let the "finger suckers" put you off. :) They're a lovely bunch of guys!

I have to admit I'm a FS too..origami is not my thing?

An odd story. I once dated a "Goth" girl who took an unhealthy interest in my practical "bloodletting."
Start the car....
