Type 1 HF causes Insulin Resistance???

Thanks Phoenix... I can see me actually sat down on Saturday and will definitely get the app.

Weight wise, I have lost a couple pounds that I really don't need to do, but my leg muscles appear to be toning better.. (Always had muscly arms, legs slim but not perfect..). I'm not really bothered about needing more insulin as I take what I need to keep happy.

The best thing so far is that the pain in my top leg muscles from what I believe is statin damage has also really improved.

Thanks Phoenix, I am really grateful for you passing on your thoughts and knowledge.

I have read that carbs cause insulin resistance. Fat won't as it doesn't affect BG. So I reckon the nice must have been fed carbs too.

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

Sorry D D...but if yr bg levels are ok on the pump and you dont need to lose weight, why are you entertaining eating low carb with loads of fat?

I've only recently realised that I was a low carber.. And so this got me to look at my fat intake to make sure I was having a balanced diet for energy and muscles

My BG levels are brilliant, it has nothing to do with diabetes. Just that being so active from 5am through to 10pm daily, I need to make sure my energy levels are good. I do not want to go back to feeling **** like I have done previously... Making a point of having a bit more fat has really improved my energy levels and feel good factor... I have never had a lot of anything except birthdays n christmas. So far I am absolutely feeling tip top and my BG's are just flat lining except for one batch of tubes that were really delivering very slowly....

Nice to know all ur experiences. I have noticed that my fasting BG is much higher when I had much fat for supper than usual. I dont know if thats just an increased dawn phenomenon or the effect of fat. Thank you for sharing ur experiences:):)
