HGV type 1 drivers!

Hi all, I was diagnosed with type 1 in December which subsequently I lost my hgv entitlement. I have since re applied for my licence.... this is where my confusion starts... they refused it because I didn’t submit any medical evidence to support my new application. The hospital told me that I did not need to submit any info to the dvla. So I was wondering if anyone could help me with what exactly I need to do to get my licence back and the relevant information I need to provide the dvla. Thank you in advance any help would be really appreciated!

From my understanding I thought the dvla contacted your gp to check for any issues with your diabetes. Eg hospitalisation due to low bs.
Might be worth a phone call to them to see what info they want.

I get a form every year.. but it’s not always needed I’ve not returned one the last 2 years... I did the one for my first renewal after 45.yrs old.. will do about her one at 50.

If DVLA decide they want it but you have not returned it they will write to you and ask for it
