So,

Newly diagnosed pre-diabetic/diabetic type 2 right on the kusp.

Wake up BG 6.2

1 - 2 hours after eating im 6.5 -> 8.5

Post meal 2-3 Hours later 5.6

I would love some help on a couple of things.

First of all is there ANY tricks out there to stop waking up at 3 oclock in the morning due to this insulin ****. My sleep is just horrible.

Secondly any ideas on meals, and working out. My BG sky rockets after exercise and it really freaks me out.

Thanks to all of you!

Are you injecting insulin and waking up with low blood sugars ? What do mean by 'this insulin ****'

What are your BG levels after working out?

Hi. Your numbers look ok for someone newly diagnosed. If you are on insulin...why are you on it? Any other meds? You say your BG sky rockets after exercise...what kind of numbers...and are you eating or not before exercise? The time you eat be a factor. Also, the numbers you are giving us appear to be as a result of self-testing with a meter, yeah? Have you had an HbA1c test done (probably at diagnosis) and what was it? It represents you average over the preceding 3 month period, whereby meter readings (extremely useful in helping you control things through diet etc) only represent your blood sugar level at a given moment. You will definitely get advice, opinion and support here. Research low carb diets on this site and elsewhere. One crucial point to take in is that carbohydrates effectively turn into glucose in the blood, so cutting down on high carb foods is, in my opinion and that of many others here, a big deal. Good luck.
