Hi i am new to the forum

can any one tell me if my bad back pain can cause my b.g to go up higher than it should be
I am having trouble exercising due to my back I am taking paracetamol 8-10 a day I know
10 is to many but the pain is that bad so if any body can help I would appreciate
 
Hi @hollydog and welcome to the forum.
Pain causes stress which in turn elevates your blood sugars.
Have you seen your G.P. as too many paracetamol can be damaging to your liver. He may well prescribe some different pain killers that will be more effective.

Hi hollydog1, I sympathise with you having a bad back, I had one all over Christmas and New Year, I was taking a few paracetamol, and I noticed my BG readings were higher than normal. I agree with catherinecherub, that pain causes stress and in turn can raise your BG levels. I have now got a frozen shoulder radiating down my arm and into my hand, had no proper sleep with it for a couple of weeks and have noticed now that my BG readings are back in the 6s again, hope this helps. :):) I believe in the old hot water bottle. :inpain::inpain:
