Hi I'm jo

Calming the excess carbs still sounds reasonable without being extreme. Replacing those with fats will help hunger. Not stupid loads of fat if carbs remain reasonableness but still I’d ditch the low fat versions. Alternatively go back to gp and discussed medication options and get limitations to diet clarified if you keep with the current ones.

Yeah I will do. So no bothering with low fat versions? I'm being seen quite regularly as they making sure to get my numbers down. Just checked my sugar now all I've had is a tea this morning no sugar fat free milk and it's 10. That winds me up last night I had one chicken Kiev a handful of wedges I'm guessing that Kiev with the coating dud it. But even so my morning sugars have always been high. Ive just stocked up on fruit and got some grapefruits and avocado's to fill my salads aswell.

Until you have some guidance how many carbs are safe for you I can’t comment what you should eat.

Factually though the wedges will have raised sugars, probably by more than the chicken coating. Fruits are quite high carb especially tropical fruits. Berries and avocado are the lowest of fruits.

Many drs will be horrified at ditching fat free stuff and eating more fats - panicking about cholesterol. There are numerous thread similar on here giving the other side of that argument. Though I wouldn’t advocate eating both high fat and high carb simultaneously. No weight loss likely that way. The higher one goes the lower the other needs to be like a seesaw.

OK thanks I've got another appointment with my dietician so will go through it with her. She's now got a list of all my recent blood results and said she will go through it so I'll see what she says. Thankyou for your reply

I have been wondering if what you want is bulk to actually fill up your stomach or if you are feeling hungry - they are two different states so need different types of food.
I feel hungry like I know what I got in front won't be enough I may have a big salad with ham or whatever but I know Il need crackers or bread roll to feel fuller

You are still confusing the two stated - you are hungry BEFORE you start to eat, BUT before even starting the meal do you go to get the carbohydrate foods?
Do you at some point stop feeling hungry - but do you go on eating to pack out your stomach, because that is the sensation you want - or do you just go on eating because the food is there in front of you?
I'm just wondering about your motives - premeal anxiety about not having enough to eat is a possibility, a mental rather than a physical need for food, or a need for the sensation of stretching your stomach in order to be released from the need to eat more.
I have been questioned about my motives for supposedly over eating for so long I have absorbed the thinking (though for me it usually came down to my denial that I was eating too much when I obviously had to be). For some people finding out their motives was an eye opener.

Yesss what your saying about wanting to feel that full feeling inside. I do go for the carbs straight away as I feel that will be the only way I will feel full. It's like I want to make sure I eat well so I don't start snacking later my go to has mostly been crisps but I've started with fruit now and because of the pills I'm drinking alot of water too

Might I ask you to consider the description 'eat well' - it is (unfortunately) the title given to the plate method of portioning out foods which we are told is 'healthy' when for many diabetics it is close to disastrous.
Eating well should be having foods which will promote your health and well being. You seem to start out preparing the meal but when it comes to eating it you add in things which are high carb. Not in case you are still hungry - but in order to eat them, hungry or not. You could - for instance, make a large serving of cauliflower with cheese as a side dish, and when you have eaten your main course, go onto that. You will feel very full indeed, but not be eating loads of carbs.
I appreciate that on the medication you are on, you can't go low carb, but having a low carb dish in addition to your meal, and as an alternative to the starches you might eat otherwise, could be an option.
Fruit is not normally a good choice as the sugar prompts over indulgence.

You could have Bergen Linseed and Soya bread it is low carb and many here have that including my T2 husband I am T2 but don't eat it as I do not like seedy bread. I do eat Ryvita though many of us can eat those ok also Nairn oat crackers are quite popular
