I am not newly diagnosed but although I have attended a DEREK, (a morning session all about Diabetes), I still know very little. For instance when I test then eat, then test again, my sugar level goes up, so why not test and not eat, therefore keeping the level lower?
Also, I have been feeling 'light headed' recently. I have an appointment with my Nurse and will talk to her about this, but I am worried by some of the posts on here about Hypos. I have been extra thirsty this week, which I have never been before, yesterday I drank and drank but couldn't face food, so apart from some ice cream, didn't eat anything through the day and only some fresh fruit in the evening.
I have also found a couple of times that my levels go high, and I cannot see with glasses, I went to the optician who could not explain why I could see perfectly without my glasses, this lasted for a couple of months Until I got my sugar levels under control (I think) then I needed the glasses again. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
