Hi Everyone!
Am so glad I've found you all! Enjoyed reading some of the posts. Now I've joined the site, I'm sure I'll have many questions to ask & hope I can answer a few too. Have had Type 1 Diabetes for 44 years, recently taken early retirement on ill health grounds-although not due to diabetes related issues. Mind you...I'm struggling to keep stable @ the moment!

Love to you all,
Liz xx

Hi Liz and welcome to you.

Have a good read round the various topics on the forum and, if you have any questions, please ask. We have plenty of well informed people who are happy to offer advice.

Try some 85% chocolate. Under 20g carbs per bar so a square or two will work OK. Supposedly good for your blood pressure too. Yes that's right, like red wine it's a medicine . . .

I buy low sugar sweeties at tthe pharmacy. Not necessarily the ones with sorbitol either. A little pack lasts me weeks

Oh hanadr you have such control, a pack lasts you weeks wow whats your secret!!!

I tend just to have nice thoughts now and i dream a lot at night lol, as i find if i have just 1 i want more usually the packet.

Hi Liz

Welcome to the forum…

Sorry to hear that you have other health issues along side your diabetes can’t be easy…

Mind you I am surprised that some medical professional hasn’t linked it to your diabetes, as any ailment I seem to present to them, I tend get that’s your diabetes!!!!

Unstable knee which left me in pain when it nicked the ligament requiring physiotherapy, told it’s your diabetes!!!

Frozen shoulder (at present) went to the docs because you’ll diabetic and don’t be surprised if the other shoulder follows suit ahhhh

Best one so far, was the time I broke my little toe, and was asked if I was having a hypo at the time… No…

I even had hints of diabetes was behind Glandular fever many years ago…

Take care

My advice though, don't try the 99% stuff, not only is it expensive, but it does take a much more refined palate than mine to fully appreciate it :)

Regards, Tubs.

my palate has been well and truly spoiled then :)
