'HI' reading... advice?

I have been having really high blood sugar readings. Last one being 32.7 and a 'HI' reading before that. (I believe HI is above 33.3?)
I have tested my blood for ketones and i had a result of 0.5.
I have seen my doctor this morning but he really wasn't sure what to do. He tested my urine and found blood and 4+ of ketones. (not sure what that means)
I am currently waiting for my DSN to call me. Im really not sure what to do. Symtoms include, excessive thirst, blurred vision, urinating very frequently.
Has anyone got any advice?

Thanks, Emma

Your illness does not define you. Your strength and courage does.

It sounds simply like high blood sugar......

high ketones could suggest the onset of ketoacidosis.....

ultimately though you need insulin to get back to normal....

a correction dose would do the trick.....are you able to do that without consulting a healthcare professional?

Hi, I have been giving myself correction doses as well as my normal food doses. It doesn't seem to be touching it. Still at 27.6

thanks

Have you changed your insulin pen or cartridge? If your corrections don't seem to be working at all, change your insulin in case the one you're using has 'gone off'.
